World football governing body Fifa boss Gianni Infantino will meet President Yoweri Museveni during his two-day visit to the country this week.
Infantino is scheduled to arrive on Friday. According to Ahmed Hussein Marsha, spokesman of local ruling body, Fufa, Infantino’s programme has been brought forward to accommodate the aforesaid meeting with President Museveni.
Initially, Infantino’s arrival had been scheduled for February 25. While in Kampala, Infantino will also interact with the minister of sports and education Janet Museveni, Fufa executives and other football stakeholders, including sponsors of the The Uganda Cranes.
Infantino was elected Fifa president in February 2016 to replace disgraced former boss Sepp Blatter, who was indicted on corruption allegations.

Uganda receives significant financial and project support from Fifa as one of its 208 member countries. Some of the benefits from Fifa’s Goal development projects include construction of Fufa House in Mengo and Njeru technical centre in Jinja.
