University Football League returns on September 12

The Pepsi University Football League (UFL) returns for its eleventh season on September 12.
The new season has been aligned with the university academic calendar, which runs from September to May. Speaking on Monday, September 4, UFL organizing committee chairman Vincent Kisenyi said the first round will be played between September and November while the second round is scheduled for February to May.
The number of participating teams has increased from 22 to 23 this season, following the formal admission of ISBAT University into the league.
The teams were pooled into Group A with Bugema University, Kabale University, Uganda Martyrs University and University of Kisubi; Group B includes Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Victoria University and YMCA while Group C has Kyambogo University, Makerere University, Muni University and Ndejje University.
Group D comprises Busitema University, Kampala International University- ty, Kumi University, Uganda Christian University; Group E has Gulu University, International University of East Africa, Nkumba University, St. Lawrence University and Group F includes Bishop Stuart University, ISBAT University and Kampala University.
Defending champions Uganda Martyrs University host Bugema University in the opening game slated for September 12 in Nkozi.
