Kyagulanyi vows to defy police on NUP tours

National Unity Platform (NUP) party president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has vowed to defy the police and continue with his countrywide mobilisation tours.

The police yesterday banned indefinitely NUP's tours on the pretext that they were creating unnecessary traffic jams and had paralyzed business in areas where they have been staged. But speaking to journalists at his offices in Kampala today Thursday, Kyagulanyi said the police orders can’t be respected because they are extra-legal.

Kyagulanyi said the police has no right to grant or deny permission to anybody to assemble publicly. He said in their communication, they were not seeking permission like the deputy Inspector General of Police Tumusiime Katsigazi had insinuated in his letter, but were simply informing them about their activities as prescribed by law. He said they are not going to respect any orders that are not anchored on the law.

Kyagulanyi said it was disturbing that Katsigizi's statement looked like a statement from an NRM functionalist, not the police who ought to be neutral in political contestation. In the police statement, Katsigazi said they can’t allow NUP tours to go on because while addressing people in the Luweero district, Kyagulanyi allegedly attacked President Museveni and threatened to overthrow an elected government.

“In Kasana-Luweero, the mobilization activity was used to incite violence, promote sectarianism, make illegitimate calls for the removal of an elected government, and issuance of defamatory statements against the person of The President of the Republic of Uganda. In view of the above blatant breaches of the guidelines, the activities of the NUP are immediately suspended," the statement reads in part.

But Kyagulanyi said if indeed he broke any law, let the police take him to court other than them trying to be the complainant, the judge, and the executioner. The police also hinted at the fact that Kyagulanyi’s life and that of his supporters might be in danger because of the recent bomb scares. But Kyagulanyi said if there is anybody against his life it's Museveni’s security forces.

Kyagulanyi also said although they are not violent people, they are not willing to stop their activities simply because of fear of the violence that might be subjected to them as we have seen in the past where the security and NUP have disagreed. Kyagulanyi also said the accusation that they have been violent and disrespected other road users is all negative propaganda to justify the ban.

"Our people have been peaceful, but the people blocking roads for hours it has been Museveni and his people. What happened in Hoima where one person died was purely an accident. So, the police should stop exercising double standards; they are scared because they are working for the regime. Our business is to remove the Museveni government because it's illegitimate and we have never been shy of saying this," Kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi embarked on a national tour that saw him visit a number of places including, Mayuge, Busia, Mbale, Mbarara, Kasese, Kabale, Arua, and Luweero among others. In all these places he visited thousands turned up to hear his message. He has said they are to resume the second leg of the tour in three weeks’ time. He is yet to announce the places, which are to be toured.

Well now it seems the Uganda Army is stocking up more bullets for a fight with Kyagulanyi supporters and terrorists. Both of these have been pronounced as enemies of the NRM military and police state!

Only God knows how many dead bodies are going to fall before these massive and expensive bullets run out! Otherwise prisons are soon going to fill up again!

But what is wrong with our part of "the Problem of Africa", the Gen Tumusiime Katsigazi of this country?

In other words, if 42 years ago (1981), the same President Museveni threatened, attacked and overthrew an elected government (UPC administration); what is wrong with any Ugandan to threaten, attack and overthrow "our Problem of Africa" Gen kassim Tibuhaburwa?

Even if to the Tumusiime Katsigazi of this country our "Problem of Africa" is a god to be worshiped; and if even the Almighty God, who often does not answer people's prayers is disbelieved and denounced, what does a mortal Gen Tibuhaburwa thinks he is?

Just asking.

Otherwise, allowing Hon Kyagulanyi and NUP to have a few field days of non-interference by the Police UPDF, was a political Trial Balloon; to check the political popularity/unpopularity atmospheric pressure. ,

The bullets did not run out when it was being used against the Langi, did they? It will be the turn for northerners to cheer-up & encourage M7 with the anticipated action.

Of course, the Ganda are much more numerous and it will take a lot more bullets to dessimate the same percentage of their population as was achieved with the Langi. That should be M7's least problem since he produces bullets (in situ) in Luweero.

kasede!
The Acholi allowed one so-called Lakwena and Kony to be used to annihilate them.

Unlike the Ganda who are always united, they are appeasers and always destroy themselves.

(1) You are correct to point out that the Acholi colluded in the dessimation of the Langi. The Langi know who did what to them. It took many forms.

For example,(a) what did the Ganda do in Lweero Triangle to buses from Lira? (b) The Langi know that M7 paid the Libyans (for his 1 m bullets from Ghadaffi) in meat from cattle from Lango.

The rest of the Langi cattle were looted by the Amajong with the head-nod from NRM-M7. (c) Do you remember Aboke girls? (d) do you remember the pacification of the Langi by the army using the Ganda method of sodomizing them (= Baffeeism)? (e) etc - the list is long and you should expect that the Langi will surely be very busy tying-up the loose ends after this regime falls.

Lysol,

Acholi didn't let Kony use them but said NO to him, reason he couldn't make Acholiland his base to fight Museveni! So Kony set their villages on fire, killld domesitc animals before leaving Acholiland! Then Museveni's boys who were afraid of Kony walked in & burnt more villages, but ate domestic animals that were still alive!

Acholi obayed T. Okello who orderd then army mainly formed by Acholi, to stand down as all the other tribes UNITED for Museveni!

Akot knows Kony, helped compose his wedding speach when he was a good kind soldier, reason Akot didn't, doesn't understand how Kony became a bad warrior! & became another Museveni!

Time Ugandans stop blaming one another, but say NO to tribalism & UNITE or Uganda will remain Museveni's family business for good!

The war is against Museveni & not Ugandans against themselves!

Thanks!

Ugandans MUST become ONE PEOPLE or they are ALL doomed as it's them ensuring their destruction to ensure Museveni's post in the family business that Uganda is!

Those in the army, police, fake parliament, ministers are Ugandans, just as the poor waiting for public/social services, right?

Why are Ugandans still powerless tribally divided ruled ensuring their complete destruction?
