The ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs is unaware of President Yoweri Museveni’s alleged appointment of his son and advisor on special security operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to clean the institution of corruption.

Muhoozi tweeted on Tuesday that Museveni, the commander in chief of armed forces, has tasked him to clean up the ministry of Defence and vowed that his first task will be redeeming help to all war veterans.

“The president and commander-in-chief has given me the task to clean up the ministry of Defence. MoD will be saved from all the corruption that has been going on for decades,” Muhoozi said.

But MoD and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, has said as the ministry they are not aware of such assignments.

“He has been assigned by the president?" Kulayigye wondered. "According to who? I am not aware. I have not seen that appointment.”

Although the army might not be aware of Muhoozi's new assignment, he has gone ahead to explain that the corruption at the ministry has left many ex-solders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) without any help.

“As one of my first steps in redeeming MoD, I will insist on a program to help our war veterans, 90% of them suffer from PTSD,” added Muhoozi said.

PTSD is a mental health which where is triggered by terrifying events someone has been to (experienced) or witnessed. For the case of militants or persons who have grown up in war-torn areas, they have relapses like flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety that are in most cases unavoidable thoughts.

Muhoozi until a couple of months back, was the commander of UPDF Land Forces before Museveni sacked him and replaced him with Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga who was at the time commanding Shuja operations against ADF rebels in DRC. Museveni reverted Muhoozi to his previous appointment as presidential advisor on special security operations.

This is one of the final stages of the so-called Muhoozi's project, before he replaces his senile old man.

Do you really believe that, in light of your arrogance, you will succeed where your father failed?

But Wainanchi, how can the children of a government by the corrupt and for the corrupt clean up corruption?

These children were born in corruption, grew up in corruption and now work in the atmosphere of corruption.

In other words, full of the corruption sh** how can they possibly clean it up?

Seems like the general is the one suffering from PTSD!

It is about time his family help him before he does something that he will regret.....A psychologist would solve this problem.

I wil answer that, since Gen MK boes not use this space: HE WII NOT SUCCEED.

I say so becuase: Both M7 and son now, for the first time officially, have recognised corruption in the military. By pitching his son to clean up the military, M7 is directly pitching his son against the military.

This is akin to what the Almighty Dictator did to his son (jesus) by sending / pitching his son againt Satan on the battle-field (the Earth), war in the territory that Satan holds.

Thanks!

The ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs must be so so naive not to understand Uganda is Museveni's family business & every institution is controlled by the head of family!

Thanks, but,

As long as powerless tribally divided ruled Ugandans wait, look up to Museveni, his son the only one who will replace him, the question is WHEN?

I wonder if his definition and application of corruption is going to be selective. I know not whether it is a sleight of hand, but I notice that the target appears to be MOD.

I am not sure whether this by necessary implication includes the soldiers. If so, two things spring to mind. One is that he will be on a hiding to nothing as the regime is propped up by these same said soldiers.

The second is that he has spent a long time in the army, latterly as the Commander Land Forces and did nothing about it. When did the epiphany of corruption in the army come to him? Is he trying to rebrand himself in the likeness of Saul having that road to Damascus moment?
