Two killed in Nakasangola road accident

Two people have died in a road accident in Nakasongola along the Kampala-Gulu highway involving a ministry of Agriculture vehicle.

Four others sustained injuries in the accident which occurred at Kakira, Katuugo sub-county on Wednesday afternoon.

The officer in charge of Katuugo police station, Innocent Sande says that the Isuzu double-cabin vehicle, registration number UG 2474A carrying a casket was heading to Pader district from Kampala when the tragedy occurred.

He adds that the accident was caused by a puncture on the hind tyre on the co-driver’s side which resulted in the vehicle losing control and swerving off the road before overturning.

The rescue team found that two of the occupants died on spot. They include a woman and a baby girl aged about 3 years. The injured were taken to St. Franciscan health centre, Kakooge and the bodies to Nakasongola health centre IV mortuary.
