Landlord closes Lancet labs over COVID testing

Lancet labs

Lancet labs

Lancet laboratories, one of the accredited private laboratories testing for coronavirus disease (Covid-19), has been locked out of Madhvani Building on Buganda road by the landlord.

According to Lancet’s Dr Robert Lukande, the landlord locked them out in protest of testing for Covid-19 on his premises.

According to Lukande, 150 Covid-19 test results due to be released today, vital cancer tests, the lab’s international server and other tests have been locked in as the landlord fears spread of Covid on his premises.

Lancet mostly handles intending international travellers at Shs 345,000 per test, and results are known within 24 hours. The development comes at a time when the ministry of Health slapped a Shs 240,500 test charge on people in need of Covid-19 results citing test kit shortages and resource constrains.

The ministry of Health recently launched an anti-coronavirus campaign, Tonsemberera which means don't come near me, keep your distance. Critics said though well intentioned, the campaign was propagating stigma against coronavirus patients. Uganda and Kampala city in particular, has registered a spike in Covid-19 cases with the cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans currently standing at 2,972 with 32 deaths.

In other words, after all has been said and done; Covid-19 is actually Mega multinational business cartel to squeeze money, life and death out of us.

It is a business whose subscription knows no law of supply and demand, but the law of life and death. One may choose to buy a shirt/skirt or not.

But it is not a choice when it comes to the existential threat by an invented disease like Covid-19, which is by design; to sell multiple trillion masks, testing kits, temperature guns, protective gears, trillions of liters of sanitizers, etc.; to the over 7 billions world population.

This is tragic indeed. First every Ugandan, except the well connected is locked down and cut off from any source of income, thereafter denied any tests when the virus starts killing our citizens.

Second, Mulago is closed of to Wanainchi and left only to the so called VIPs. When I read that Ugandans have VIPs I could hold my laughter because Uganda has no any person worth to be called a VIP, a honorable, Excellency and so on.

Most Ugandan elites are either mafias, corrupt or traitors sitting in Parliament. What type of people continue supporting NRM and M7's government?

At the beginning it looked as if Uganda would contain the spread of the virus to the population, but now the only direction is rising numbers.

What a doomed nation. Being ruled by aliens has never been good in the entire world and in history since apes started working on two feet.

Using big words to say nothing of import, but a load of conspiracy theories and nonsense. Sad!

I've taken three tests at Lancet laboratories. And guess what; they did not come to me but I looked for them for each test.

These were vital tests, one a matter of life and death, and there was nowhere else I could get them in Kampala or Uganda.

Unless I misunderstood you, what is true cannot be a nonsense. The Medical and Pharmaceutical industry is now the largest global enterprise.

E.g., look around; Pharmacies are at neck and neck or, are out competing supermarkets.

If I may ask you, because HIV/Aids is now an eternal disease; when do you think the ARV and condom factories will close down? And at this juncture with Covid-19, which company would like close its Masks Sanitizers, testing kits, reagents, etc. factory?

In other words, over-simplistic thinking and/or outlook is a very dangerous substitute solution to the future of humanity. E.g., even Panadol is not formulated to stop headache, but to remotely cause it so that one is dependant on it. Eish!
