Police in Rubanda district has impounded a bus belonging to Kwizera Executive Bus Company for carrying excess passengers contrary to the coronavirus preventive guidelines issued by government.

Kigezi Region police spokesman, Elly Maate, said the bus, registration number, UBE 978Z, although licensed to carry 39 passengers, was carrying 36 passengers contrary to the guidelines that they should carry half of their capacity in line with Covid-19 guidelines.

Ten of the passengers were Congolese nationals whose destination hasn’t been revealed. According to Maate, the bus was being driven by Steven Mwebe, a resident of Bukasa village in Bakuli Ward in Rubaga division and destined to Kampala from Kisoro when it was impounded.

The driver was ordered to return to Kisoro town where he and the passengers were handed over to the police pending charges of disobedience of lawful orders. The Congolese nationals were returned to their country since they were in Uganda illegally.

Uganda has in recent weeks seen a spike in coronavirus cases, with public transport and workplaces identified as the new hotspots. The cumulative total confirmed cases stand at 2,524 while total deaths stand at 26 as of August 26, 2020.

This Ugandan is a fantastic fool who was smuggling Congolese illegal immigrants who likely could carry Covid y and Ebola into Uganda..

Am glad the police arrested them and the Congolese should have served a sentence for illegal entry and contravention of Uganda's laws...

Let them try to go to Rwanda and learn how deadly what they are doing in lax Uganda can be..

The driver must be given a maximum deterrent sentence for putting Uganda in danger of this biological war from China ( China flu)!!!

The black fool did know the deadly consequences, with malice aforethought!!

Something is abnormal with many Ugandans who are behaving in a bizarre and shocking way these days...
