Uganda has been tapped to host the Speakers and Presiding Officers Conference of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) in 2024.

The decision was made on Monday at the ongoing CSPOC in Ottawa, Canada. Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, Ugandan MPs and parliamentary officials were also in attendance.

At the Monday forum, issues discussed included forum CSPOC meetings; format of the said gatherings; Standing Committee Rules and venues for future conferences.

It was agreed that the 2021 CSPOC would be held in Guernsey. The latter is an island in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. In 2022, Australia will be the host. In 2023, the Standing Committee meeting will be held in Trinidad and Tobago.

Other issues on the agenda throughout this week will be parliamentary engagement; openness, transparency and accountability; and parliamentarians as effective legislators and representatives. The week-long conference got underway on Monday.

The 'circus' of these futile meetings is endless; what does Uganda really achieve from them since we have a parliament that has no power, the police force runs this country through guns and teargas.

And this cabal has planned the meetings in places that 'house' off-shore banks, just imagine the convenience!

rubangakene, thanks!

The Commonwealth is today without leadership & is not aware Museveni is a demon dictator in power for 34 years, allows no opposition & even when Ugandans are at peace with his demoniac rule, Uganda is not ground any decent, democratic, humane organisation should hold meeting in!

The Commonwealth will bolster the tribalistic system of rule that disempowers Ugandans & make them slaves of Museveni while thanking the demon for being so evil & ruling powerless Uganda for life!

Is the commonwealth really relevant. why don't these former British colonies let go.of the nostalgia of colonialism?

Even one price Harry has abducted his role as a prince and relocated to America. Monarchy is the thing of the past.
