Police arrests 16 in Kampala over homosexuality

A Ugandan gay rights organization says 16 men have been detained by police on suspicion of homosexuality and human trafficking.

Diane Bakuraira of Sexual Minorities Uganda said Thursday the arrests took place in a neighbourhood just outside the capital, Kampala, on Monday as the men were being hosted by another rights group.

A police officer confirmed the arrests, saying the men were detained following a "complaint from the public." He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters.

Activists say attacks against LGBT people are increasing amid efforts by Uganda's ethics minister to introduce a bill that would punish gay sex with death. The government spokesman denies such a plan exists. Uganda's penal code punishes gay sex with up to life in prison.

Scientists/biologistsf have already proved beyond reasonable doubts that homosexuality is not a result of natural genetic disposition: it is just a social deviance.

In other words, arrest and take the sh**t holes to Butabika Psychiatric Hospital for mental health treatment and sexual reorientation.

For the first time I agree with the government spokesman who denies allegations of gay arrests.

These LGBT criminals who might have been arrested for human trafficking and other offences are using their organization as an excuse to seek economic asylum in UK. The story of a woman who still claims to be a lesbian and was caught by the Immigration Police sleeping in bed with a man in East London and was deported from UK for her false stories sums it all.

The woman now still in Uganda using quack lawyers to return to UK has never been arrested or killed and freely makes false noises to return to UK from the very country which allegedly kills gays and lesbians.

Of the rampant murders in the country I am not aware of the gays and lesbians of being among the dead bodies. If Bob Wine paraded the streets waving berets and other materials symbolizing People Power, as these so called gays appear in the photo they would be arrested and tortured for parading without Police permission.

These LGBT criminals. .........

Please make a distinction between a sin and crime. And also, please be reminded that to criminalize LGBT activities violates our Constitution on the basis of human rights as well as the guarantee that we shall have no "state religion".

Karemere, this is one fight where all Ugandans (hyperbole) have a United stand no matter what religion, political party, tribe, and sex. We are a few decades behind.

Mubiru It will help your cause as well to seek true political asylum because the government of Uganda does not want you to wear red berets and to run around the streets of Kampala with the view of removing the current government.

Trouble is that these LGBT do not want to remove the government. The government does not like what they do in their private lives even if they do pay their taxes of which this government does not refuse to collect.

So Mubiru you are all both victims but you seem to want to be the true victim of unfair arrests.

Uganda is a house of God and Satan is attacking it in all corners.

The so called LGBT are Satan showing in human body as it happened during Sodoma and Gomorrah.God reacted by destroying the entire nation.

LGBT must be destroyed /killed.Imprisonment is not enough because God did not imprison but killed them.

Even dogs, pigs, cows, birds etc have better brain and understanding than the so called LGBT.Leave our Country Uganda,go claim your rights in hell.

"Behind" who Wierdo?

In other words, between sin and crime there is no distinction with a difference: they are both violations of either order or rules: divine or mundane/human/nature.
