Abdallah Kitatta has been found guilty

The General Court Martial has convicted the once powerful and feared Abdallah Kitatta, the Boda Boda 2010 Association patron and his bodyguard Sowali Ngobi for illegal possession of firearms.

Kitatta, who once reportedly told one of his land grabbing victims that “power is more important than the law” was pronounced guilty by General Court Martial chairperson, Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti in a judgment delivered today morning at the Makindye based court. According to Gutti, prosecution adduced enough evidence from four witnesses which implicated the duo.

The witnesses included Private Richard Kasaija, Corporal Richard Wanyama, a detective attached to the Directorate of Counter Terrorism and the then, Captain David Agaba, a detective from the Chieftaincy Military Intelligence (CMI).

They told court that they found the two with an SMG rifle, two pistols and 30 rounds of ammunition without a valid license contrary to the Fire Arms Act. According to court records, the guns were recovered from a vehicle, registration number UAK 135B that two were using outside Vine hotel in Wakaliga.

Court found Ngobi guilty of illegal possession of the SMG rifle with 30 rounds of ammunition. The same court exonerated him of illegal possession of a black pistol that was found in the same vehicle, saying the former commandant of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Nickson Agasirwe confirmed that he was the one who armed him on the instructions of the former police chief, Gen Kale Kayihura.

Court on the other hand found Kitatta guilty of illegal possession of a golden pistol and ammunition. Court acquitted eight others suspects on charges of unlawful possession of military stores citing failure by the prosecution to adduce sufficient evidence implicating them.

They are Amon Twinomujuni, John Ssebandeke, Fred Bwanika, Hassan Sebata, Matia Ssenfuka, Hussein Mugema, Ibrahim Ssekajja and Joel Kibirige. Court adjourned the matter to Tuesday to sentence Kitatta and Ngobi. The offences against Kitatta and his bodyguard attract a death penalty.

The suspects were arrested from various places in Wakaliga in Rubaga Division between January 19 and 20, 2018 for being found with unlawful possession of fire arms without a license and military stores which are a monopoly of the defence forces.

Hello Uganda , here we go again !

I already found Kitatta guitly of STUPIDITY .

He is the Haji Mohamed Birikadde of Idd Amin.

He is the Haji Ssebirumbi of Obote 11
All these idiots committed their crimes in public ; they had no idea that their "senders" woulld abandon and throw them into the fire when their usefullness comes to an end.

Idiotic Kitatta is not going to be an expensive prisoner . He goes in ready with his yellow outfit.

11 years will be a light sentence .
He will serve 4 only months and be "pardoned " to please and manipulate his fellow dimwitted Hajis .

Pardoned? I doubt that. The case for KK to answer is still in the pipeline & since that posed a threat "up the stairs", that Haji might end up being the grass under their feet.

What about the accountant who lost his life as he was transferring some good money to the banks?

For heavens' sake the possession of arms is some privilege for some special liberators on this continent of Africa without going through the normal rules of the right of an African to arms.

Really the right to arms has been with all adult Africans for ages even before the USA existed!

There are many like Kitata who in apparent ignorance bay for blood from their fellow citizens as they are paid money and possessions.

Such, who are less privileged in knowledge but obviously hood winked by money, will go a long way to do anything that interests their benefactors.

Without thinking, they clash with would be powers like ministers and seem untouchable. When the money earned no- longer increases, they turn to armed robbery and use state given powers to fleece the citizens.

BUT WHO ARE THEY? Are they not formed and built of the very fabric of the regime? Used and dumped? To work with NRM, you either need to use your brain twice or you will eat your poop twice.

But Ugandans never learn. Coz even right now, a Kitata is being birthed, blandishing brutality and stupid wit, aiming at torturing and wounding fellow citizens. All in the name of money and gain!

Jackass Kitta is the victim of the situation and infighting.

Agasirwa gave the testmony in a court Marshall that it was Kayi , who ordered him to offer a gun to Kita. The person who gave him a gun is out on a court bail while Kita's known address is the university of understanding....read Luzira
