The leadership of the People’s Government led by Dr Kizza Besigye and People Power movement led by Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, have resolved to join forces to expedite the end of President Yoweri Museveni’s 33 year rule.

This is contained in a joint statement issued signed by Besigye and Kyagulanyi following their meeting on Monday. According to a statement issued on Wednesday morning, the two sides agreed during the meeting that they are on the same mission to free Uganda from dictatorship and oppression.

“We agreed that despite belonging to different formations/fronts, we must all work together as partners on the same mission,” reads the statement.

The two leaders call on their supporters, members and leaders to focus their energy and resources towards expediting the end of president, Museveni’s rule and building a free and democratic society.

“We agreed and commit ourselves not to engage in conduct, which creates disharmony and undue to collision among the forces of change, and to always act in a manner that reflects togetherness and comradeship,” the statement read.

The meeting also took note of the human rights violations that have continuously been occasioned on their leaders and others Ugandan attempting to organise and against the brutal regime.

The statement singles out violations including unlawful arrests, detention and torture and unlawful blocking of legitimate activities, violently breaking up of meetings and functions and blocking media engagements.

“To this end, we agreed to jointly resist all violations against our freedoms of speech, assembly, movement and conscious.”

There has been a heated exchanges between the supporters of the People’s Government and People Power especially on social media.

People power supporters have been piling pressure on Besigye, the four-time presidential candidate to give way for Bobi Wine on account of his popular support among young voters. Besigye's supporters have however been arguing that Bobi Wine's strategy of just voting Museveni out of power is not feasible since, Museveni and his NRM government always rig elections as has been confirmed by the courts in 2016 and 2011.

Lakwena, understood, and

This is why Ugandans MUST join hands to ensure Dr Besigye/Bobi Wine have the people power needed; this means tribal leaders, elites, the poor, tax payers, the youg who want a future...MUST join in & make it a National uprising, cry for change & say NO to Museveni!

Only Ugandans, in UNITY around & bolstering just 1 opposition leader, have the to power to block Museveni to leave him 1 option; LEAVE.

Ugandans left Museveni to rule as he peases; divisive tribalistic system that disempowers our people, fake parliament, fake elections... & our people just go on in peace waiting hoping, praying, begging the demon who is not there for them!

But Ugandans should know they will have to change when they throw Museveni out & ensure they are governed & served as human beings living in their own country!...

...Would Museveni still be terrorising Ugandans if our people had come out to reinforce Dr Besigye after last fake election?

Instead our people just worked, continue to do so in peace to ensure Museveni gets his tax money, uses police/army against them, controls parliament/court & just go on ruling obedient slaves/migrants who cannot live without him!

The outcome of this move & how things willbe depend on Ugandans, either they;

- join hands to bolster Bobi Wine as Dr Besigye is doing & become 1 people ensuring Museveni is out, or

- leave the 2 to fight lonely battle they will NEVER win & Museveni will just go on.

Why do Ugandans work in peace to ensure Museveni's continuity with tax money he uses as his pocket money to buy off idiots, pay police/army to teargas, block, harass, arrest...them?...

...What would UNITY to stop Museveni using police/army against Ugandans, owning tax money, blinding the outside world with fake parliament/elections... cost, if not FREE our people who will then be able to put in place the governance they want, decide who leads them, for how long & how?

Museveni's stay depends on Ugandans & now that Dr Besigye joined Bobi Wine, is there any reason Ugandans go on bolstering Museveni through the tribalistic system, ensuring his pocket money & why?

Is it because Ugandans believe not 1 of their own can lead them because we are stupid, idiots, ignorant, uneducation, with no notion of what belonging to our country & living in it freely, mean?...

...Why do Ugandans believe Museveni is the only qualified to rule them, when all he does is lock them out of the rest of the world through the tribalistic system, knowing no outsider will ever say a word against him as long as we go along with the system that goes against International Principles?

Ah! refugees taken care of by UN/EU in peaceful Uganda live so well & would never want to go back to the shitholes they left!

But UN/EU never talk about how Ugandans live as they are alright with Museveni & the tribalistic system that locks them with their common enemy & out of the rest of the world at the same time!

Why is giving chance to FREEDOM through Bobi Wine an issue Ugandans need to debate/throw at one another, while they ensure Museveni's stay with such peace?

Is it because Bobi Wine is a Ugandan from a tribal land, while Museveni is migrant & free?

Ugandans MUST by now know that no election organised & run under Museveni, will bring in any other than the demon as he controls every institution!

This is not question of election to ensure Museveni is out, but that of UNITY under 1 leader, toensure Musevnei does not use army/police against Ugandans!

Developed countries go for UNITY to ensure they get a better candidate, but this is not the case in Uganda conquered by Museveni & MUST first & above all, be FREED through UNITY that will block Museveni & force him out!

Then & only then, will Ugandans be able to organise themselves & go for election! Right now, it's not question of election, but of UNITY around just 1 Ugandan, to ensure Museveni is out as in Tunisia, DRCongo, Algeria, Sudan...!

Why have tribal leaders, DP, UPC...not yet joined Bobi Wine to ensure UNITY that will show Museveni way out?

juwait kali, ageed.

This is why we should just UNITE around Bobi Wine, especially now that Dr Besigye has made the move so needed, to ensure it's the 'people of Uganda' saying NO to Museveni!

We should stop Museveni eliminating us 1 by 1 & this is the time to join hands to ensure he is out & a better future for the young to whom the country belongs!

When will Ugandans understand it's their country formed by their tribal lands, they MUST UNITE to FREE first, if they want any future at all & in the kind of governance they want?

Which region, tribe are FREE under Museveni & want him to just go on?

Quoting Ekelot:
These folks needed Museveni’s machinery to hammer them into understanding that working with not against each other was the only viable solution.

For sure to secure Uganda all well-meaning efforts must be brought to the table.

I am so confident that there are very many people including in the NRM who see the need to arrest the current slide of our beloved country.

The two should use their energies in galvinsing support to their cause not to fight or fix each other; for that exactly is what Museveni wants.

Time is for UNITY, then when Musevnei is forced out through people power, Ugandans will start debating, talking, forming independent tribal states or reforming the republic!

We'll be slaves, oppressed, migrants, terrorised by police/army...as long as we fight one another, instead of UNITING to get rid of Museveni!

Organise yourselves and offer reasonable agenda to the voters and accept people's decision other than antagonising every government program even when it benefits us.

We need leaders that gives us favourable policies, security and infrastructure for us wanainchi to work and develop our country. You shouldn't promise us heaven on us but offer to work with us citizens for effective and efficient service delivery.

it is very easy okusindika omuntu asitamye nga museveni, surely for a person who has been traversing the country the whole year and gets 32 percent, Bobi and Besigye should be celebrating the Wakida opinion poll because despite having been denied a chance to move around the country, their polls joined place them above museveni

Quoting WADADA roger:
Let Ugandans also watch out for the following,
a) Besigye, Mugisha Muntu and Nobert Mao see themselves as seniors to Bobi and would find it difficult to rally behind him.

b) Bobi wine does not have the required resources from his savings or donors to sustain a campaign.

c) The DP group is going to pull out and watch from the peripheral

d) One of the groups will get a heavy payment from Museveni and start spilling secrets of the coalition and before we know it, the group will split.

In other words Wadada, it is a muddy and messy slippery slop.

It is where holding hands, giving a helping hand to prevent a fall, all lead to a messy fall.
