Security guard, 'thug' shot dead at Ntinda hotel

An unidentified suspected thug has shot dead Silas Tumwesigye, a security guard at Sals hotel along the Ntinda-Kiwatule road in Kampala. Tumwesigye was gunned down in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire, says police responded to the attack and killed the suspected thug in a gunfire exchange at Ntinda-Kyambogo sector near Uganda Business and Technical Examination (UBTEB) offices.

He says they also recovered the firearm used by the thug whose identity hasn’t been established. Owoyesigyire says they have since established that the gun was stolen from Corporal Ulia Bongo who was stabbed on May 3, 2019 while on duty at UBTEB offices.

According to Police, Bongo is still in critical condition at Mulago national regional referral hospital. The late Tumwesigye was attached to Premium Security Company, a private security firm.

According to Owoyesigyire, Tumwesigye wasn’t armed by the time he was attacked by the thug. He cautions members of the public against hiring unarmed security guards.

Sorry sorry. But how come security guard was so poorly trained to be killed? He had the gun and advantage.

We again have the same problem of poorly trained and recruited security people who care more about money than their duty.

Thid is unfortunately paid with life and it us responsibility of those who hired and trained them. These people need more training and vigilance.Sorry for the loss of this life!!

ItWhere does police spokesman live ? Both police and security firms have been deploying and still deploying unarmed personnels to guard some premises with in the city and outside the city.

Police spokesman try to check some churches especially on Sunday where the police provide unarmed police guards without even radiocall to guard these premises.

Can you imagine what will happen if well trained terrorists overpowered them.

I apologize for my incomplete comment.Indeed poor securico was not armed and was not able to fight back But now my question.?

What ENIMALS live today in Uganda and kill people like that??? What would happen if we did not have today our president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to safeguard and protect Uganda.?

Where are those rag tag who are halloballo about Uganda and bringing more insecurity?? We do not want Uganda to be embroidered into civil war like in 70s and 80 s and to prevent our development Besides whatever was done in Uganda for the past 30 years was fine by president Museveni NRM and good people of Uganda .

But Wainanchi, it is high time you went back to a proper school and learnt to comprehend the English Language.

In other words, Afande Owoyesigyire categorically stated that; "Tumwesigye wasn’t armed by the time he was attacked by the thug."

it is because you and your boss Mr. M7/NRM, first don't stop to think.

In other words, full of yourselves, you only have the mouth: No brain, nor the ears to hear and eyes to see reality.
