Another female health worker goes missing

The family of Maria Nabuyunga, a laboratory technician at Nsambya hospital is in great panic over the disappearance of their relative.

Nabuyunga’s sister, Jane Nakanwagi, said her sister left her home in Buzinga, Makindye division last Thursday to meet her friends but she has never been seen again and her phones remain switched off.

“She was on leave. She went to see her friends. We don’t know what happened afterwards. Her phones are off and we haven’t received any call from anyone to tell us where she is,” Nakanwagi said.

Nakanwagi said a case of a missing person has since been reported at Kabalagala police station but police is yet to get clues on her whereabouts. She added that the family will hold a meeting to devise means on how they can work with police to search for Nabuyunga.

Nabuyunga’s disappearance comes less than two days after police retrieved the body of Dr Cathy Agaba of International Hospital Kampala (IHK) who had been reported missing since April 13.

Police arrested a security guard, Ronald Obongo who was guarding the premises where Agaba was renting and he reportedly confessed to killing her and dumping her in a septic tank.

I have just joined the school of thought that think some of criminal elements within police and other security organizations are responsible for the rise in criminal activities such as kidnapping.

They do it to inorder to supplement their chicken feed salary.

Because of the absence of strict observance of the rule of law/constitutionalism, it is during the era of terror and murder; under a military dictatorship that the disappearance and mysterious murder of persons takes place.

E.g., during Amin's era, disappearance and murder was the order of the day.
