We'll continue blocking Bobi Wine concerts - Gen Tumwine

Gen Elly Tumwine said Bobi Wine has failed to separate from being an artist or politician

Gen Elly Tumwine said Bobi Wine has failed to separate from being an artist or politician

Security minister Gen Elly Tumwine has said singer Bobi Wine will continue having his shows blocked as long as he continues with his 'defiance' attitude.

The Kyadondo East MP, popularly known as Bobi Wine has seen several of several shows blocked over what police says is failure on his part to meet the requirements.

On Boxing Day, police blocked Bobi Wine's concert at One Love beach in Busalaba, Makindye division on grounds that the artist did not get clearance from police. In November, police also blocked his Kyarenga concert that was meant to happen at the Mandela national stadium, Namboole, forcing the artist to move it to One Love beach.

On Thursday some Kampala youths took to the streets burning old car tyres and blocking the road in protest of Bobi Wine's cancelled concerts. Now Gen Tumwine says Bobi Wine has not been listening to security on matters of venue, estimation of crowd, and all the other requirements of the Public Order Management Act.

Tumwine, a seasoned photographer and artist himself, says Bobi Wine is following the stance of opposition doyen and former FDC president Kiiza Besigye of opposing everything, being defiant and also failing government programs.

Tumwine says, by blocking his concerts, security is simply responding to how Bobi Wine has been behaving, adding that anybody who wants to frustrate others will also be frustrated. He says Bobi Wine's only way is to follow everything security wants to the dot if he wants to continue performing.

"If Bobi Wine follows what he’s told by security, there will be no problem. I advised him right from the beginning and I am willing to advise him every other time..."He needs to calm down and separate his political stance of defiance from his artistic stance. You know artists are objective, we think for everybody. But once you now start taking a sectarian line which is confrontational to others, then you meet the necessary resistance." said Tumwine.

Tumwine added that Bobi Wine's challenge now is to find a balance between his music and politics, saying the musician and a legislator have different roles. Tumwine says Bobi Wine should not use his talent against the law, as security has a duty to protect all.

Asked why Bobi Wine's concerts continue to be blocked yet the legislator says he met all the requirements, Tumwine said the duty lies with police to ascertain if Bobi Wine has met the requirements. And that if police says he hasn't met the requirements, then it is highly likely that he hasn't because at the moment he is the only artist being blocked.

"Whatever profession you’re doing, do it within the law. if use whatever profession or talent you have, the law will be against you. The security forces in charge of law enforcement who are in charge of protecting everybody , he has a duty to fulfil their requirements," he added.

Bobi Wine on his part says he is being sidelined by the regime intentionally although he meets all the requirements requested by security.

"Up to now, we have not been given any 'official' reason as to why the show was blocked because we wrote to police long ago and complied with all legal requirements," Bobi Wine posted on social media.

Parliament ruled before it went for recess that Bobi Wine should be allowed to perform like all other artists.

Heelo Ugandaaah !

for those wo may not know , Gen Elly Tumwine was Army Commander when NRA entered the Repulic House ( bulange) As soon as he sat in the chair on the 3rd floor , he started behaving like a TRIBAL CHIEF of long ago.

He was so rude , so tribalistc that some Senior and few Junior Officers wanted to start a mutiny.

One of those was the late Lt. Col. Frank G ; another one was the late Nasur ; another one was a woman who is stlii alive and retired.

Fellow Ugandans , Gen Elly Tumwine lasted only a few months as A.C. He was dropped in March 1987 and has never been given any important position for the last 31 years .

You have to talk a lot when you have been side-lined for that long.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Moshe !

Did these evils listen to the then Kenyan President, Daniel Arap Moi in 1985 when he made Museveni the bush war chief on one hand and Mr Olara Otune and late Col Wilson Toko on the other sit in Nairobi for talks which Ugandans saw as a last chance to the Luwero war which left millions dead?

They were happy only to capture power, and then steal everything Ugandans possessed. You llike it or not, time has come for you crooks to get off from Uganda.
You have made us homeles and quite poor and needy Ugandans enough!

The Law abiding Gen Elly Tumwine has refused to vacate the Normal Gallery despite warnings that this property belongs to Ugandan Artists like the National Theater.

what is the use of enjoying life by the barrow of the gun and leave your children to surfer, when they will be meant to pay for what their farther has accumulated in terms interest accruing everyday that passes?.

Nobody can have a gun for ever, there comes a time when you are at the mercy of those your oppressing and that is the time you will know that its not just saying that you are saved but what perception people have on your behavior.

When sacking Gen Tumwine from Army Chief, The GEN needs to avoid to be used again by remembering that President Museveni said he has nothing to do apart from designing clothes

Afande Tumwine. Happy and Bettet 2019 and please keep Uganda free and safe.

For this Dog Bobi Wine keep them give them a good bashing and prevent them from holding political rallies aka concerts in which they want to poison young Ugandans with rubbish stories and slogans.

Thete is no foreign country which will pour gold and cash to Uganda. We do not need that.

Uganda is rich enough to sustain itself. We need in vestments but those are blocked by countries supporting Bobi Dingo Wine. Why are only few countries working in Uganda? Where is Germany, France, Beitain, America and others to build roads and power dams?

Why the same countries are blocking Yganda oil pipelines and oil production? Why they do not in est in tapping mineral resources? How a out ageicyltyre and other areas but instead they fuel descent and give money to Bobu Dingo to protedt against the government.Happy New Year Gallant Afande Tunwine!!!

Bobi -Wine cool down as those in power tell you. Whatever you have done to full fill their conditions the tribalists will always find silly petty reasons to frustrate you.

A saying in Luganda sums it up that" a physically stronger person can disarm you and use your own stick to crush you" which is exactly Tumwine is doing.

We have what warriors like Sabalwanyi call "tactical" withdraw from the battle including the battle of words in which you are currently engaged, When you withdraw by cooling down, it does not mean that you have been defeated.

Museveni jumped fences when he realized that it was pointless and dangerous to face the enemy and tactically withdrew. Time is on your side otherwise you are wasting your valueable time and money to argue with people who are armed with all sorts of weapons to crush you.

Well, you know what followed. M7 did not follow what was agreed there, did he?

Ask Mr. Olara Otuunu (who represented the then Acholi regime) about the details.

In other words, Gen Tumwine reminds of the ugly, greedy, one-eyed, wooden-legged and evil Pirate, Captain Silver in Treasure Island story.

But Wainanchi, remember after liberating Ugandans from Amin's era of terror and murder in 1979, the Tanzanians have not yet forgiven Gen Tumwine, Rugyema, Kagame and Mr. M7's(Banyarwanda) treachery for shedding the first blood of their countrymen (TPDF), who were instructors at Kabamba Military Training College in 1981.

And Wainanchi, when it comes shedding the blood of fellow countrymen, women and children, there is no such a thing as bravery or heroism. It is treason, moral cowardice, organized murder and abomination.

That is how the Gen Tumwine and Mr. M7 of this country are morally and physically ugly, smell the dead bodies of Ugandan, hence have dark souls.

Eish!
