President Yoweri Museveni has advised recently crowned Miss World Africa, Quiin Abenakyo to be proud of her African heritage and stop wearing fake hair.

22-year-old Abenakyo who is the current Miss Uganda and was second runner-up at the 68th Miss World finale in China, paid a courtesy visit to President Museveni at State House, Entebbe yesterday moments after her return in the country.

In a statement, Museveni said Abenakyo is "a true definition of beauty coupled with brains." Abenakyo was the first Ugandan beauty contestant to make to the top 5 finalists in the Miss World competition.

"Abenakyo is indeed a tall, beautiful Musoga girl. My only concern is that she was wearing Indian hair. I have encouraged her to keep her natural, African hair. We must show African beauty in its natural form." said Museveni.

The computer science graduate impressed the world with her intelligence and ability to effortlessly answer the judges' and fellow contestants' questions.

Museveni commended Abenakyo's parents - Charles Sembera and Alice Kyamulesire who hail from Mayuge district for raising her with values.

Museveni said Abenakyo should be an example and inspiration to many young Ugandans today who "rush into promiscuity and ruin their lives, yet a little patience and completing school would give them a foundation on which to enjoy the rest of their lives with their spouses."

The same message was sent to Abenakyo by a crowd that witnessed the contest from a local London Pub where I was having lunch.

Africans are beautiful. They do not have to be anything else but African.

Like him or hate him Kaguta is right!
