Milege World Music festival is on this weekend

Milege World Music festival has held the flag as Uganda’s premier camping festival for four years now.

Today, the festival returns for an epic fifth edition at the Entebbe Botanical gardens. Milege is a non-profit initiative whose main objective is to promote and grow the appreciation of cultural music in Uganda.

The event had its inaugural showcases last year on November 30th at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort. This year, the municipal council of Entebbe will host the event courtesy of the mayor.

With activities like camping, the festival offers people the opportunity to enjoy an entire weekend of entertainment, with an option of either paying for only a day of their choice or the full event.

Rated as a tourist festival, the event kicks off tonight with Milege Acoustic Project. Later, there will be a mix party by various DJs.

But like many festivals, Milege’s big day is on Saturday with performances from Apio Moro, Ruth Bahika, Totemo and KYP Gumboot dancers, among others. Tickets go for Shs 50,000.
