Michael J Fox received a standing ovation from Hollywood’s biggest stars at the 2024 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) on Sunday, as he took to the stage in a wheelchair to present Best Film award to Oppenheimer.

The actor, 62, who has battled Parkinson’s since 1991, was helped to the podium to announce that Best Film had been awarded to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, one of seven gongs for the film. Shockingly, Barbie and Margot Robbie left empty handed.

It’s not so much about winning but alerting the world about human rights violations in the country, which has serious implications on investment and tourism.

He succeeded in this by being a nominee on the world stage-BAFTA with his documentary film mentioned for an award, and all the photo opportunities and contacts with international celebrities and donors.
