Mbarara High School head teacher, Benon Chally Twinomujuni and his bursar, Michael Namara have today appeared before the Anti-corruption court in Kampala on charges of embezzlement, causing financial loss and abuse of office.
The duo was picked up yesterday, Wednesday and transferred to Kampala where they appeared before the Anti-corruption court and charged with three counts of embezzlement, causing financial loss and abuse of office. They are accused of failing to account for Shs 207 million school money that was allegedly swindled between June 2017 and February 2018.
They were granted a cash bail of Shs 10 million. The duo was apprehended after holding a closed door meeting with officers from the Inspectorate of Government, which lasted for over three hours.
