Driver Christakis Fitidis could not be more thankful at the way things panned out on Sunday evening during the Oryx Energies Heart Beat rally in Masaka.
His sixth-place finish was enough for him to be crowned the 2017 National Rally Champion.
However, this was not as straight-forward. The final rally event was near heart-stopping, even for the experienced Fitidis.
Heading into the final sections of the event, Fitidis, who had gone into the rally needing to finish in the top-seven to wrap up the National Rally Championship, was out of the reckoning.
He was eighth, which gave Ronald Ssebuguzi a good chance to snatch the title from him since he was in the lead.
But Umar Mayanja and Hassan Alwi dropped out, allowing Fitidis to finish sixth, earning him 410 points and beating Ssebuguzi (400 points) to the title.
