Uganda Cranes coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has praised his team following a 3-1 win over Slovakia on Sunday in an international friendly played in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Foreign-based players Moses Oloya, Farouk Miya scored the first half before Geoffrey Massa picked the second after coming on as a substitute, while Denis Vavro netted for the Slovakia team at the Armed Forces stadium.
"This win is a good motivator as we have few days to the start of the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations. I am happy with the way the boys are responding," Sredojevic told URN.
After a 2-0 loss to Tunisia in Tunis last Wednesday and a 1-0 victory over Slovenia on Friday, the coach said his team is taking shape ahead of the opening game against the Black Stars of Ghana on January 17.
Although the Slovakia team was fielding several new faces, the game gave Uganda's technical bench room to get the team in shape ahead of the last international friendly match against African champions Ivory Coast on January 11 at the New York University Stadium.
The Uganda Cranes who qualified after 39-years for the Afcon will be based in Port Gentil where they are grouped alongside Ghana, Mali and Egypt.
