The Entebbe Chief Magistrate's court has remanded Godfrey Wamala alias Troy, the prime suspect in the murder of popular music artist, Moses Ssekibogo alias Mowzey Radio.
Wamala appeared this morning before the Entebbe Chief Magistrate, Mary Kaitesi where he was charged with murder.
However, Kaitesi didn't allow Wamala to plead to the charge, saying the court lacks jurisdiction on capital offences. She remanded him to Kigo prison until February 26 when the case will come up for mention.
Prosecution alleges that on January 22 while at De Bar in Entebbe, the accused beat up Mowzey and pushed him to the ground.
The artist became unconscious and was rushed to Nsambya hospital before he was moved to Case clinic where he breathed his last on Thursday last week.
Wamala was picked up on Monday this week after he was implicated by a number of witnesses interviewed by police as well as the other two suspects including the proprietor of the bar, George Egesa and the bouncer, Xavier Lukete.
The resident state attorney, Julius Muhirwe told court that police investigations into the matter were still ongoing.
Evidence on the police file shows, that Radio opened a bottle of Black Label whisky and poured it on revellers prompting Egesa to order the bouncers to eject him. Wamala reportedly attacked and assaulted the artist as he was being led out of the club.
