Movie review: Look out for Hacksaw Ridge

This Mel Gibson-directed movie features Andrew Garfield as Desmond T. Doss, a Christian soldier, who refuses to use a gun in war and faces court martial from the military.

He undergoes challenges as he is isolated and beaten up by members of his unit. Later on, his good deeds are proven when he rescues his fellow soldiers injured in battlefields with the Japanese army. This movie is a real inspiration for Christian soldiers who may harbor doubts on whether to use guns.

The movie features Sam Worthington (Wrath of the Titans, Man on a Ledge), Vince Vaughn (The Watch, Mr & Mrs Smith), Hugo Weaving (Cloud Atlas, Matrix, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) and Luke Bracey (G.I Joe Retaliation & Point Break).

This is a truly inspiration film with the major highlight marking the return of Mel Gibson to the director’s chair since his last work on Apocalypto (2006).

It has already raised various views from Christian soldiers who have been caught in the line of fire and had to kill the ‘enemy’ to save their units. Due to this, many want to watch it more. You can get your chance this weekend as the movie will be showing in cinemas around town.
