Abby's wedding

The long wait turned into reality as CBS Programme Manager Abby Mukiibi Nkaaga tied the knot with his long time fiancée, Stella Olivia Namatovu at Kibuli Mosque. For good measure, Stella now becomes Hamilah Mukiibi.

Mukiibi took everybody by surprise when he displayed his ‘Calypso’ dancing skills immediately after being declared husband and wife by Sheik Sulaiman Ndilangwa Kasule.
The fun continued at Water Front Beach in Entebbe where the couple hosted their guests. A jovial Mukiibi decided to make Hamilah sit on his lap and feed her cake amidst wild cheers from the big crowd.

Buganda’s former Katikkiro, Joseph Mulwanyamuli Ssemwogerere, Buganda ministers, Land Force Commander, Gen. Wamala Katumba, government officials, and city tycoons all graced the wedding. In fact, the flashy cars decorating the parking area were a good indicator of who was invited to the large Shs 16m-tent.

Local musicians Silver Kyagulanyi and Mariam Ndagire sang their hearts out – while renowned artistes Kato Lubwama, Abu Kawenja, John Segawa and Patriko Mujuka cracked jokes that left guests rocking in their seats.

Hordes of gifts, including one sofa set from Giant Eagles, made the Mukiibis’ wedding unique. But even those paled when Mukiibi presented a Freelander (Land Rover) to Hamilah reg. UAK 070P, thanking her for loving him.
The two have been together since Abby’s not-so-popular days, and have a son together.

“The wedding was the best thing to have happened to my life and I am happy with the gift my husband has given me,” a jovial Stella said after the wedding.

Nakawunde set for wedding

Harriet Nalubwama (Nakawunde), formerly of The Ebonies, is set for a wedding in the UK, her adopted home, next month.
D&N has learnt that Nakawunde, a star in The Ebonies’ most famous production ‘That’s life mwattu’ in the late 1990s, will get married to one Waigo, a UK-based Ugandan boxer from West Nile.

Nalubwama left Uganda shortly after the murder of her stage partner [Dick] Katende in Kampala.

Hilderman now condom envoy

Dr. Hilderman Mazongoto’s new song Kampe has made him become an ambassador of Lifeguard condoms. He recently signed with MSI Uganda to spread the crusade of condom use among his fans.

In Kampe, Hilderman teaches people the words used to ask for a condom, after discovering that many people are too shy to face a shopkeeper and ask for the protective rubber.

Dembe's Baby, Patra bounced

Ddembe FM’s party animals Bina Baby and Prossy Patra may never forget the Miss Uganda Jinja finals. They were bounced at Crested Crane hotel where the pageant was held.
They were overheard pleading that they were known to every body and have never paid any entrance fee since childhood, but all this fell on deaf ears until one of the organisers came to their rescue.

Bina Baby was overheard telling the bouncers that they cannot pay because they hosted Miss Uganda’s Solaya Zalwango on radio and she promised them free entry at Jinja. Oh dear!

Daniela not Chameleone's wife

Ekitoobero Agabudde fans at Nakivubo Stadium on Sunday were left confused when Jose Chameleone declared that Daniela Atim whom he had married the previous day was not Chameleone’s wife but Joseph Mayanja’s!

Chameleone who had just abandoned his honeymoon to arrive at Nakivubo in style – in a chopper – was trying to make the distinction between Chameleone the singer, and Joseph Mayanja the husband.

Chameleone’s chopper was the centre of attraction, not only at Nakivubo but also at Mbuya Catholic Church and later Kampala Serena Hotel where the reception was held.
