With the new My-Pakalast rates, Airtel Uganda customers will now be able to make calls, surf the web and send text messages at a much lower price.
On Monday, the telecom company announced it had slashed prices of its My-Pakalast package so as to enable all its customers enjoy cheaper services. Unlike in the past, where one needed to have a minimum balance of Shs 500 to subscribe to My-Pakalast, the new development will allow even those with Shs 200 to get voice bundles.
Nellie Mwanda, Airtel Uganda’s head of usage and retention, said the new rates were a reaffirmation of the company’s promise to offer customized products to its customers basing on individual needs.
The volume of the voice bundles one gets will depend on how much airtime they use and those who usually load more will be able to subscribe to the highest offer of Shs 5,000. Here, customers will be able to get 200 minutes, 180MBS and 180 SMS.
The new rates will even enable those with Shs 300 worth of airtime to receive five minutes, three MBs and 11 SMS. All these will expire after 24 hours from the time of subscription and the customer will have to subscribe again for another bundle.
Airtel users will be able to access the My-Pakalast menu on pressing *149*1# where they will be shown their subscription rates. The voice and SMS will only be able to call Airtel to Airtel, but not do crossovers.
